Benjamin Tubb

Born in 1988, Ben has always had an active interest in music, learning piano from an early age, and later the cornet and tenor horn.  Ben started playing the bugle at a local Boys' Brigade band at the age of 10, and after some encouragement from his mother joined the Yiewsley and West Drayton Training Band on cornet (little did he know that 6 years later he would become a tutor for this same band).  Ben progressed to Principal Cornet of the band and gained promotion to the senior band, where he spent many years in the cornet section, becoming 3rd man down at the age of 14.  In 2003 Ben moved to the tenor horn and continues to play the instrument.  As well as playing for the British Airways and Welwyn Garden City Bands, Ben has also been a member of the prestigious National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

Ben is currently a Music student at the Royal Northern College of Music where he is able to combine his talent both as a performer alongside developing his rapidly growing reputation as a composer.
