Simon Parkin was trained as a pianist and composer at the Yehudi Menuhin School, Manchester University, and the Royal Northern College of Music. He is widely acknowledged as a fluent, versatile, and talented composer, arranger and pianist, with international performing experience.
Parkin has a PhD in Composition with a particular interest in polystylism and has taught composition and improvisation at Yehudi Menuhin School and Purcell School. Currently a senior lecturer at the Royal Northern College of Music, Parkin has arranged music for the Manchester Camerata and has composed a great deal of chamber music as well as larger-scale works.
