Terry, like so many Brass Band players, conductors and composers, comes from a Salvation Army Band background. Having played cornet from the age of 8 he eventually became a bandmaster of a number of different Salvation Army Bands over a period of time.
In 2008 Terry moved to Cornwall and in 2009 accepted the position of Musical Director of Breage & District Silver Band; a position he still holds today. He has arranged many pieces for his band, including various hymns, classical transcriptions and popular songs from the 1920s golden musical era.
Terry also guests with other Cornish bands playing either Solo Euphonium or Tenor Trombone.
Terry was the Deputy Musical Director and Accompanist for a number of years of a renowned Cornish Male Voice Choir – the Treverva Male Voice Choir. He was also the Organist for the C of E Church on the Naval Base at RNAS Culdrose (near Helston, Cornwall) for many years.
Currently, in addition to being the MD of Breage & District Silver Band, he is the accompanist for the St. Buryan Male Voice Choir.
