Composer, sound design artist and multi-instrumentalist, Deri Roberts is an explorer in the world of sound, contemporary composition and electronica combined with a passion for Hip Hop, Jazz and World Music. Deri’s work ranges from small-scale ensemble, acousmatic, electroacoustic, and sample-based studio work produced in his home studio and can be heard in a variety of fields covering live performance, recorded music, sound design, film and television. Roberts’ own project and Hip-Hop outfit ‘D.E.R Collective’ released their debut album ‘New World Order’ in 2010.
Deri’s latest project as producer and sound designer with Slowly Rolling Camera sees him working alongside eminent and prolific musicians and vocalists. Having released their critically acclaimed self-titled album in 2014 the ensemble is busy performing throughout Europe and the UK.
Based in South Wales, Roberts extends his talents to the development of the next generation as a lecturer in Music Technology and Composition at ICMP and as course director of the Foundation Degree in Music Technology at Bridgend College.
