Ar Lan y Môr (On the Sea Shore)

Ar Lan y Môr is a Welsh love song which translates simply as 'on the sea shore'.  Leigh Baker’s skillfully crafted arrangement of this beautiful song begins with muted euphonium lamenting over a traditional Celtic drone featuring bowed vibraphone.  Ar Lan y Môr is a favourite in the Principality and has been previously recorded by two of Wales’ most popular voices, Bryn Terfel & Katherine Jenkins.

This arrangement was composed for David Childs and was premièred by David and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales during their 20th-anniversary Concert given in the prestigious Millennium Centre.

Leigh Baker is a rising talent having won numerous composing and arranging awards.  He is currently Composer in Residence to the world-famous Brighouse & Rastrick Band.
